Welcome to The Political Mind

What is this? This is a journal of commentary and news from across the political spectrum. Left, Right, and Center. Please do not look here for an exhaustive catalog of news and editorials. You can find that in many other places. What make this project unique are limitations. This should be a concise journal of diverse political opinion and news. Do not check here on an hourly basis. Rather this site should be reviewed every few days to either catch up on what you may have missed or to feed your political minds hunger.

Why publish?
In the last election many of us found ourselves drawn into the phenomenally successful liberal and conservative blog, polling and news sites. The problem was that they tended to reinforce and magnify the views you came with instead of confronting them.

The Challenge: This website hopes that a community of people who wish to be open to different political viewpoints come together. Through these pages we can widen the understanding of an issue by sharing thoughtful writing. Let Kos and Red State hammer a message home. They are very good at that and I encourage you to read them. This site is here to share a variety of opinion. If this collection of articles helps to clarify the debate, helps highlight how one side has successfully phrased an issue and moves you to consider how your views might be crafted to counter it then this site is a success.

Help to build this site: We are looking for Editors to join our team. (Volunteers right now folks!) In order to broaden the views expressed on this site we need a geographically diverse group to submit links to intelligent articles that authentically and clearly express a point of view on a topic in our national debate.
